Job Description

Maintenance Operations Foreman Pay:
$36-39/ hour
DOE Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Foreman to lead our maintenance team and take ownership of the reliability and preventive maintenance of our production equipment. This is a working-leader position whose primary responsibility is to develop, manage, and continuously improve a proactive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program that reduces unplanned downtime, prevents recurring failures, improves equipment reliability, and keeps production running safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Operations Foreman will lead daily maintenance activities, perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs, assign work priorities, coach maintenance employees, and work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead, direct, and support the daily activities of the maintenance team. Own and drive the plant's Preventive Maintenance program, including scheduling, completion documentation, and continuous improvement. Develop PM procedures, inspection checklists, lubrication schedules, and maintenance frequencies. Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures before they become major problems. Analyze breakdowns and equipment failures to determine root causes and implement permanent corrective actions. Drive the transition from reactive maintenance to a preventive and proactive maintenance culture. Assign and prioritize work orders and coordinate maintenance activities with Production. Maintain accurate work orders, equipment histories, PM records, and maintenance documentation. Track maintenance performance, including PM completion, downtime, emergency repairs, and repeat failures. Manage critical spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies to minimize downtime. Ensure maintenance work complies with company safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety requirements. Qualifications Previous experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Demonstrated experience developing or managing a Preventive Maintenance program. Experience with work order systems or CMMS preferred. Strong ability to identify root causes and prevent repeat equipment failures. Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and leadership skills. Food or dairy manufacturing experience is preferred. Working knowledge of GMPs, sanitary equipment, and food safety requirements is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Physical & Work Environment:
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 60 pounds. The position works throughout production, utility, and mechanical areas and may involve exposure to hot and cold temperatures, water, steam, machinery, compressed air, welding and fabrication activities, oils, lubricants, and cleaning chemicals. The ability to work overtime, weekends, and respond to equipment emergencies may be required based on operational needs.
