Job Description

JOB The Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one full time vacancies in the Woodland Generation Department, Electric Resources Division, to plan, organize, direct and supervise the operation, maintenance, repair and modification to the District's generation facilities; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Any Qualified Individual May Apply. This position is exempt and is allocated to the Professional and Supervisory Bargaining Unit. The list established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill other Generation Supervisor vacancies that may occur within the District through March 27, 2027.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for maintaining and operating the District's generation facilities; implement policies and procedures. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in the maintenance and operation of the District's power generation facilities. Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities. Participate in budget preparation and administration; prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations; submit justifications for equipment, materials, supplies, and services; monitor and control expenditures. Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures and conduct performance evaluations. Administer a computerized maintenance program to plan, develop, and coordinate maintenance schedules. Collect and compile operating and maintenance data and prepare and submit reports necessary to ensure compliance with local, State and Federal regulatory requirements. Identify and resolve the more complex operational and maintenance issues. Research and purchase parts and materials necessary for the operation, maintenance and repair of generation facilities. Schedule necessary outages; coordinate with District staff and outside contractors, as necessary. Answer questions and provide information to the public; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other District employees, outside agencies, and the public using principles of good customer service. Perform related duties as assigned.
