Job Overview This individual will be responsible for hiring and training service mechanics. Ensuring overall efficiency. In depth knowledge of the shop's industry, knowledge and strict implementation of all proper job site health and safety policies. Duties Responsible for hiring, training, and daily oversight of staff. Manage staff scheduling and assignment of duties. Responsible for performance management and disciplinary action when warranted. Process customer and client work orders. Enter customer and job information into database and maintain accurate work records and files. Assist in repair, construction, maintenance or other tasks involved in client work orders. Ensure completed work meets identified deadlines and meets or exceeds company standards. Enforce all health and safety policies in the shop. Take the lead in on-site health or safety emergencies. Address and resolves customer issues and complaints. Inspect, clean, and fix shop equipment and machinery as necessary. Operate shop machinery such as forklifts or manufacturing equipment. Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material. Orders supplies. Experience Works well in a team environment and demonstrates strong leadership skills with ability to motivate staff. Attention to detail, and organizational skills. Possesses in depth knowledge of shop industry. Possesses the necessary qualifications and certifications to operate heavy machinery. Ability to read, interpret, and compose work orders. Able to translate industry terminology into straightforward terms for explanatory purposes. Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Possesses solid analytical and problem solving abilities. Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols. Ability to remain calm and clear-headed in an emergency. Time management, ability to prioritize tasks, and ability to multi-task effectively. Basic computer skills. Work Environment The majority of working hours will be spent in the job participating in and overseeing repairs and maintenance. Shift may vary from day to evenings. Weekend hours will be required. Standard 40-hour workweek applies, though overtime may be necessary. Use of PPE where appropriate.
