Serve as the primary point of contact for the Maintenance Department during the supervisor's absence. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues. Coordinate daily maintenance priorities to ensure timely completion of corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Lead shift pass-down communication by documenting and communicating equipment status, ongoing repairs, and outstanding work to the incoming shift. Mentor, coach, and train maintenance technicians to standardize troubleshooting techniques, repair methods, and maintenance best practices. Identify training opportunities and support the development of team members to improve technical skills and overall performance. Assist in assigning work based on production priorities, equipment criticality, and technician skill sets. Support the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating daily maintenance operations and following up on assigned tasks. Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Inspect completed maintenance work to verify quality, workmanship, and equipment reliability. Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance, maintenance processes, and overall operational efficiency. Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Communicate effectively with production, quality, sanitation, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
