Job descriptionOpal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Farm Maintenance Lead for our Layer Farm in Hudson, CO. The position is a hands-on working position that supervises maintenance techs and performs upkeep, maintenance, and repair of production equipment/facilities and conducts maintenance planning duties for the assigned facility while ensuring compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will work in the laying hen houses and must be able to work in a farm/live animal environment. This position will also assist the Production Manager with other projects and duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Maintain and follow preventative maintenance program for all machines, fans, belts, motors, chains, feeders, augurs, etc. related to productionTake a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down timeDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustmentsAssign tasks to maintenance technicians and provide overall guidanceEnsure production maintenance techs are performing their duties, and that all production equipment is working properlyMaintain records for preventative maintenance, fire protection equipment, etc.

Ensure the maintenance team follows the preventative maintenance program and record keepingBe available/reachable for emergencies 24/7Maintain building and facility maintenance throughout the yearOrder parts and help maintain and manage spare parts inventoryOversee manure belt maintenance program and scheduleDetect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisionComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasOther duties as assignedPhysical Requirements of a

Maintenance Technician:

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform dutiesFast paced work environmentLift fifty or more pounds on a regular basisBend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climbWork in a general farm environment around live animals

Requirements:
