Part Time Evening Maintenance/Mechanic Supervisor HARTransit Danbury, CT Job Details Part-time $30 - $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Equipment service recordkeeping CDL B Heavy truck repair Heavy equipment mechanics Managing maintenance teams Staff supervision Automobile maintenance requirements Vehicle mechanics for truck drivers Team supervision Equipment repair Electrical work High school diploma or GED Maintenance activity documentation Air Brake Endorsement Electrical maintenance Commercial driving Full Job Description Overview Under the direction of the Chief Maintenance Officer, responsible for oversight of all maintenance operations for the transit district during the evening shift or otherwise when the CMO is not present.
Responsibilities:
Supervise work of mechanics and service workers, including facility maintenance and bus cleaning. Respond to road calls, assess vehicle damage, diagnose and repair mechanical problems and arrange necessary towing services. Prepare reports for incidents at the facility. Perform light maintenance on vehicles. Perform related clerical duties, including timecard review and approval. Prepare work orders and maintain records of labor and usage of parts, supplies, and fuel. Maintain all facilities. Report to the CMO on the job performance of mechanics and service persons and ensure adherence to safe work practices. Prepare estimates for vehicle repairs related to accidents. Perform other duties as directed by the CMO.
Qualifications:
High school diploma. At least five years of experience in the maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles and related equipment. Mechanical experience with commercial vehicles, including electrical problems, mechanical problems, air conditioning, and/or wheelchair lifts. Experience in record keeping, bus histories, records of repair, work orders and related documents. Ability to effectively supervise a small work force. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communications. Must have and maintain a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes.
Salary:
30.00-35.00 hr
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
