JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Manager with the assigned responsibility for directing and managing Squadron Personnel, Equipment, and overall readiness of all assigned resources. Incumbent partners with the Group Commander, as well as the other Commanders and organizions in the Wing to plan, schedule, and implement a flying program following overarching Operional Risk Management (ORM) concepts. Incumbent also coordines efforts with numerous outside agencies to execute responsibilities. The supervised workforce may fluctue daily to meet mission requirements.
The workforce may include:
Title 32 Military Technicians, Traditional Guard members, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR), Title 5 NG Employees, ste employees, other civilian, military duty personnel.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
This is an excepted position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the Connecticut Air Nional Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Directs unit's overall efforts to ensure readiness of assigned aircraft, personnel, and equipment to meet wartime, day-to-day mission requirements, and any Ste Active Duty to support Ste Emergencies. Collabores with the Group Commander/Squadron Commander and other base organizions to plan, develop and implement numerous long term plans to include: the Wing/Group Stregic Plan (mission, goals, values, objectives, etc.), Wing Commander's Inspection Program, the Base Master Plan (facilities), Communicions/Computer Plan (infrastructure capabilities/upgrade), the Vehicle Replacement Plan, the Deployment Cycle Plan, Aircraft Modificion Plan, Depot Input Plan, force management and recruiting/retention plans, weapon system conversions, and base supplements. Coordines with approprie groups in the wing to ensure an integred approach to action solutions of problems reling to fleet health, availability of aircraft, and the ability to conduct the military mission. Maintains surveillance and ensures effective operion of the maintenance program. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organizion to direct flying operions. Requirements Help Conditions of employment New supervisors and managers must serve a probionary period the first time they start a permanent supervisory or managerial position; the length of the supervisory or managerial probionary period is one year. Incumbent is required to serve a 2-year trial/probionary period. Nional Guard Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. Must meet Compible Military Assignment within one year from placement. Wear of the military uniform is mandory. Direct Deposit is mandory. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Qualificions
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Experience, educion, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specificions, using test instruments, making computions, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automion systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Your resume and any other supporting documention you wish to provide must clearly substantie you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operions sufficient in planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupional methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restorion, repair needs, etc. Experience in determinion of resource needs, allocion of resources, and budgeting/funding needs. Experience in human resources management policy mters affecting the entire organizion, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordining work forces and resources and negotiing with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to develop, plan, and coordine complex work assignments. Ability to follow rigid requirements established by another source. Knowledge of an organizion th produces a number of services of end products.

This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
