The ranch offers a variety of programs including summer camps, school outdoor education, and private group rentals, all set within a traditional ranch environment featuring horseback riding, lakefront activities, and outdoor exploration. Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Facilities & Maintenance Lead to oversee all aspects of facilities management. This role involves supervising and leading the maintenance team, managing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and the day to day upkeep of our property ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining the integrity of our facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating safe, efficient environment. Responsibilities Perform daily maintenance and repairs across all camp buildings, cabins, barns, and facilities Lead and complete maintenance, renovation, and facility improvement projects Repair and maintain horse barns, fencing, gates, paddocks, arenas, and other equestrian facilities Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and general facility issues Complete preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe and operational Operate tractors, skid steers, mowers, chainsaws, utility vehicles, and other maintenance equipment Maintain roads, trails, grounds, and outdoor recreational areas Respond promptly to maintenance requests from camp and outdoor education staff Assist with event set-up, seasonal projects, and special facility improvements Coordinate with contractors and suppliers when required Maintain an organized workshop, tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory Identify maintenance priorities and recommend long-term facility improvements Work alongside and support the existing maintenance team while preparing to assume a leadership role Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with camp safety standards Participate in emergency maintenance repairs and occasional after-hours support when necessary Assist with general property upkeep, including pressure washing, painting, cleaning, and other duties as assigned Maintaining equipment and preventative maintenance schedules. Ordering supplies and materials. Experience 5+ years of hands-on maintenance, construction, facilities, or property management experience Experience performing general building maintenance and repairs Skilled in carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and basic HVAC maintenance Experience operating power tools and construction equipment safely Experience planning and completing maintenance or renovation projects from start to finish Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and facility-related issues independently Experience maintaining agricultural, equestrian, campground, or recreational facilities is highly desirable Experience repairing and maintaining barns, fences, gates, and livestock facilities is a plus Comfortable operating tractors, skid steers, mowers, chainsaws, and other grounds equipment Welding and fabrication experience preferred but not required Experience supervising contractors or leading small maintenance projects is an asset Ability to prioritize multiple projects while responding to daily maintenance requests Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors in Florida's heat and varying weather conditions Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance issues when required
