Job Description

Job Summary Lakeland Aircraft Maintenance is seeking an experienced and motivated Aircraft Maintenance Shop Lead Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations, lead technicians, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused, requiring strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to manage personnel, workflow, and customer expectations in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and Supervise aircraft maintenance technicians and support staff. Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance, inspections, and repair projects. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and manufacturer maintenance manuals Act as the primary technical authority on the shop floor, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and oversight Review and approve work orders, logbook entries, and maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness Coordinate parts, tooling, and resources to minimize downtime and improve efficiency Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment Communicate effectively with customers regarding maintenance status, findings, and recommendations Assist management with estimating, quoting, and project planning as needed Enforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety culture Mentor and train technicians to improve skill levels and performance Identify process improvements to increase productivity and quality
Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required Minimum 5-7 years of aircraft maintenance experience Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GA aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs Excellent understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance documentation requirements Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills Professional communication skills with both customers and staff Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
Preferred Experience:
Experience managing a Part 145 or Part 91 maintenance environment Inspection Authorization (IA) a plus Experience with customer-facing maintenance operations Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems and electronic logbooks
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces as required Ability to work in a hangar environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
