Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Service Manager, where you'll lead a high-energy service department dedicated to delivering exceptional vehicle care and customer satisfaction. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee daily operations, manage a talented team of technicians and service advisors, and ensure every vehicle receives top-quality maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the service department team, including technicians and service advisors, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work. Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and collision repairs. Manage daily operations including scheduling appointments, estimating repairs using computer-aided tools, and ensuring timely completion of services. Drive sales by actively upselling additional services and vehicle accessories while maintaining excellent customer relationships through personalized service writing and clear communication. Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies; coordinate with vendors to ensure availability of necessary components for repairs. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all service activities. Promote a safety-conscious environment by adhering to all safety protocols related to automotive repair procedures and equipment use. Skills Extensive experience in auto service management with a solid understanding of dealership operations. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience across various automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, diesel engines, and auto body repair. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. Proven ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Knowledge of auto estimating tools such as Service Writer software; familiarity with collision repair processes is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment; strong leadership skills to motivate team members.
