We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations, develop our team, strengthen systems, and accelerate our growth. The successful candidate will work directly with Highgrove's owners to execute strategic growth while ensuring exceptional service delivery across all operations. About the Role The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations across multiple service lines, manage landscape crews and crew leaders, and implement strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader who is comfortable being in the field, working with crews, building client trust and helping shape the future direction of the business. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Oversee daily business operations across all landscape maintenance and installation service lines. Ensure quality standards are maintained and client expectations are consistently exceeded. Monitor productivity, scheduling, routing, and resource allocation. Team Management Lead and develop a team of 10-20 landscape crew members. Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and employee development. Systems & Process Improvement Implement operational systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and profitability. Develop scalable processes to support continued company growth. Utilize technology and reporting tools to ensure timely service delivery. Recruitment & Training Recruit, hire and train new employees. Ensure employees receive ongoing training in safety, quality standards, equipment operation, and company procedures. Fleet & Equipment Management Oversee maintenance schedules for trucks, trailers, tractors, and landscape equipment. Ensure equipment is maintained, inspected, and operating safely and efficiently. Safety & Compliance Maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and workplace safety requirements. Business Development & Strategic Growth Identify opportunities to expand services with a focus on commercial, retail and industrial contracts. Develop relationships with current and prospective clients. Assist with commercial proposals, contract negotiations and bid submissions. Collaborate with ownership on strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives. Financial Management Monitor budgets, labor costs, equipment expenses, and operational performance. Identify opportunities to improve profit margins and drive revenue growth. Review operational reports and implement corrective actions as needed. Qualifications Required 10+ years of leadership experience in landscaping, agriculture, irrigation, excavation, construction, or a closely related industry. Proven success managing teams and field operations. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Experience developing operational systems and improving business performance. Knowledge of fleet management, equipment maintenance, and safety practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Commercial landscape maintenance management experience. Experience with route optimization, scheduling software, and operational reporting. Business development and sales experience. Experience managing P&L performance and operational budgets.
