Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, manage a team of skilled technicians, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. Your leadership will drive service excellence, optimize workflow, and boost profitability through effective upselling and client communication. Duties Lead and motivate the service team, including service technicians and mechanics, to deliver top-quality automotive repairs and maintenance services. Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, timely completion of repairs, and adherence to safety standards. Manage customer interactions by providing clear explanations of repairs, estimates, and service recommendations while fostering positive relationships. Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates and service writing documentation. Drive sales through upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, shocks & struts, transmissions. Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and industry standards; perform quality control checks on completed jobs. Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation; oversee parts ordering and inventory management. Maintain comprehensive records of all services performed, including detailed reports on diagnostics, repairs, and client communications. Stay current with automotive diagnostics techniques and repair procedures to support the team effectively. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or dealership environments with strong leadership skills. Extensive mechanic experience with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for accurate service writing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients. Strong sales acumen with a focus on upselling complementary services to enhance revenue. Knowledge of automotive repair specialties including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, brake repairs, collision repair processes, and oil change procedures. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
