Role:
We are seeking a an experienced and highly motivated Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, equipment commissioning, and significantly support continuous improvement activities at our Suwanee, GA manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing new equipment installations, startup and commissioning activities, maintenance programs, automation systems, and manufacturing process improvements. The successful candidate will serve as the technical leader for the facility while actively participating in troubleshooting, equipment validation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. A critical responsibility of this position will be leading the implementation and startup of new manufacturing equipment being introduced into the facility. The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will ensure all equipment is installed safely, commissioned properly, validated for production, and supported through effective safety, maintenance and reliability programs before being released to manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive manufacturing experience, and a willingness to work directly on the production floor to support equipment, maintenance personnel, and manufacturing operations.
What you will do:
New Equipment Installation & Startup Leadership Lead all activities associated with installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing equipment. Develop and manage equipment implementation schedules and startup plans. Coordinate with Suwanee Plant Leadership, AES Manufacturing Engineering, contractors, production personnel, and safety personnel during installation activities. Engineering Leadership Lead engineering activities supporting safety, manufacturing, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage capital equipment projects from concept through implementation. Support PLC programming, automation systems, HMI troubleshooting, and equipment controls. Maintenance Leadership Direct daily maintenance activities and establish effective maintenance procedures. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Establish equipment maintenance schedules and maintenance performance metrics. Provide technical direction and coaching to maintenance technicians. Reliability & Spare Parts Management Develop and maintain critical spare parts inventories. Establish spare parts stocking levels based on equipment risk and lead times. Create equipment reliability plans and lifecycle maintenance strategies. Safety & Compliance Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with AES safety standards and regulatory requirements. Lead machine risk assessments and equipment safety reviews. Verify compliance with lockout/tagout programs and machine safeguarding standards. Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership and direction to engineering and maintenance personnel. Establish performance expectations and accountability for assigned team members. Support employee training, development, and technical skill advancement. Work collaboratively with Safety, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership.
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered. Experience Minimum 7-10 years of progressive manufacturing engineering and maintenance experience. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success leading equipment installations and manufacturing startup programs. Experience commissioning new manufacturing equipment. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systems and reliability programs. Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems. Experience developing PM and spare parts programs. Strong project management and execution skills. Preferred Experience Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems. Manufacturing automation and controls. Preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Capital equipment implementation. Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
