Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are properly maintained and repaired according to established procedures. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to optimize equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems, electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage circuits—and HVAC systems using schematics, multimeters (voltmeter, ohmmeter), and other diagnostic tools. Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA standards by conducting regular safety audits, training staff on safety procedures, and maintaining a safe working environment. Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs from planning through execution while adhering to project management best practices. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety compliance using CMMS software for accurate reporting and accountability. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate facilities maintenance schedules that minimize guest disruption while maximizing operational reliability. Requirements Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams within a hospitality or similar environment. Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems including HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical wiring—both high voltage and low voltage—and industrial maintenance procedures. Strong understanding of schematics, electrical testing devices (voltmeter, ohmmeter), and troubleshooting engineering issues related to mechanical and electrical systems. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations along with experience implementing safety protocols in a facilities setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Experience managing facilities maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and record keeping. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
