Mahi Pono, an agriculture company rooted in Maui, Hawaiʻi, continues to grow and is seeking a Maintenance Manager. A maintenance manager coordinates and oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment and systems by managing a team of technicians. Key responsibilities include scheduling and assigning work orders, developing preventive maintenance plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies, managing parts inventory, and maintaining budgets and records. The role involves both technical oversight and strong management skills, requiring communication with both the maintenance team and senior management. This position requires disciplined oversight of work orders, equipment utilization, and inventory management, with a strong expectation of operational excellence, accountability, and consistent execution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Team Management:
Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating maintenance technicians and other staff.
Work Order Management:
Reviewing, prioritizing, and assigning work orders for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Preventive Maintenance:
Planning and implementing schedules for routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA) and company policies.
Technical Oversight:
Inspecting facilities and equipment, performing technical assistance, and coordinating repairs to ensure quality and timely completion.
Budget and Inventory:
Managing maintenance budgets, tracking expenditures, ordering necessary tools and parts, and maintaining inventory levels.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment history, costs, and performance metrics.
Communication:
Acting as a liaison between the maintenance team, senior management, and other departments, and communicating policies and concerns effectively.
Vendor Management:
Liaising with and overseeing outside contractors and vendors for specialized work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in managing a maintenance operation or similar facility 5 years' experience in plant maintenance operations Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety protocols Excellent leadership and team management skills Solid experience in budget management Effective communication and people skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Has created and implemented a CMMS/Maintenance PM program Has built a maintenance team and implemented maintenance standards, including maintenance shop layouts, and MRO purchasing inventory
