We are seeking a Heavy Haul Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of our heavy haul fleet, trailers, and support equipment. What You'll Do As our Heavy Haul Maintenance Manager, you will serve as the primary resource for all fleet maintenance activities and equipment reliability initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing maintenance operations for heavy haul trucks, trailers, and support equipment. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, air brakes, suspensions, and trailer components. Developing and managing preventative maintenance schedules and inspection programs. Reviewing driver inspections, equipment reports, and maintenance records to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime. Responding to roadside breakdowns and coordinating emergency repairs when necessary. Making informed decisions regarding equipment readiness, repair priorities, and maintenance strategies. Managing parts inventory, vendor relationships, warranty claims, and outside service providers. Monitoring fleet performance, maintenance expenses, and equipment reliability. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation. Ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, inspection requirements, and company safety standards. Training, mentoring, and supporting drivers and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation and inspection procedures. Collaborating with operations and leadership teams to maximize fleet availability and meet transportation schedules. Supporting budgeting, forecasting, equipment replacement planning, and capital maintenance decisions. Promoting a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Performing maintenance-related administrative and reporting duties. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of five (5) years of experience maintaining heavy-duty trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, or similar fleet assets. Strong experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, and trailer equipment. Valid driver's license. Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Technical degree, certificate, or formal training in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or similar leadership role. Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and fleet compliance requirements. Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one.
