COMPENSATION PACKAGE NEGOTIABLE BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND PERFORMANCE JOB SUMMARY
: The Director of Maintenance is responsible for managing PTI's fleet assets and ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules governing the operation of commercial motor vehicles.
Duties include:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Fleet Management Creates, implements, and reviews a preventive repair and maintenance program for all trucks and trailers. This includes all scheduled monthly and annual maintenance and fleet repair. Track warranty key dates and submit receipts to vendors for reimbursement Compile work estimates for repairs following collision incidents and track reimbursements from insurance companies Communicate with dispatch to schedule shop work that makes the best logistical sense. Oversees the installation of HOS tracking devices and cameras Evaluate fleet vendors and negotiate pricing Monitor fuel consumption and Idle time/APU performance and maintenance Other duties as assigned DOT Compliance Serves as a knowledge expert in driver and driver qualification compliance and regulatory requirements under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT). Develops and manages the completion of preventative maintenance programs, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all regulations. Develops a program for Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and reviews and audit programs Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Microsoft computer products and other comparable systems. Proven written and verbal communication skills. Must be fluent with Paccar and Cummins software packages Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize daily job tasks to maintain high quality service to internal and external customers with limited supervision. Knowledge of Department of Transportation requirements for drivers and companies is beneficial. Occasional overnight travel, as required. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Knowledge of regulatory agencies (DOT, FMCSA, etc.) preferred. Minimum of 2 years related experience in fleet logistics and operations preferred. Proof of driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Must be able to communicate
