Job Description

Position Description:
Work will be to refurbish and repair railcars using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment operation. This is outdoor and physical work involving kneeling, bending and stooping. Other projects include general building maintenance as needed. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Supervise overall direction of railcar, property maintenance efforts and maintenance team Delegation of duties Ordering materials and supplies Refurbish and repair railcars Perform routine maintenance on railcars Perform routine maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing Inspect and maintain (physically and visually), interior and exterior buildings, parking lots, and grounds Repair building fixtures and equipment Maintains maintenance area in clean and orderly condition Occasional assistance with warehouse loading and unloading duties Snow removal Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors, and customers Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
High school diploma or GED Dependable attendance, hard work, team player Ability to use all tools required to repair and refurbish railcars Perform heavy, physical labor Operation of various hand and power tools Perform other duties as assigned. 5 years Supervising experience
Working Conditions:
Able to work outdoors in extreme all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), Able to work in conditions that include dirt and dust Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with or without assistance Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling Able to perform work on uneven surfaces Frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights including making repairs on top of railcars/buildings Able to work on and around heavy and moving machinery Bend, walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time Use hand tools Follow safety policies and procedures Wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
Pay:
$28.00 - $34.00 per hour
