Fulton St., Chicago, IL 60612 Position Overview The Maintenance Leas is a hands-on leader responsible for leading, supervising, and developing the maintenance team while ensuring the reliability and availability of critical plant equipment. This role requires someone who can effectively manage mechanics and technicians, assign and prioritize work, hold the team accountable, and build strong maintenance practices in a fast-paced industrial environment. Qualifications Leadership & Team Management Previous experience leading, supervising, and developing maintenance mechanics and technicians strongly preferred. Ability to assign and prioritize maintenance work in a fast-paced production environment. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate maintenance activities around production requirements. Industrial Maintenance Experience 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred. Experience in scrap recycling, metal processing, manufacturing, heavy industrial, aggregate, or similar environments highly desirable.

Hydraulics Industrial electrical systems Mechanical power transmission Pneumatics Motors and gearboxes Bearings and conveyor systems Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures . Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals . Maintenance Management & Systems Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs . Ability to review recurring equipment failures and develop corrective actions to prevent repeat breakdowns. Experience with a CMMS or maintenance work-order system preferred. Basic computer skills. Ability to manage multiple repairs and projects in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the Maintenance Team Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance mechanics and technicians. Assign and prioritize daily maintenance work based on production requirements. Provide technical guidance and hands-on support when needed. Coordinate maintenance activities with production to ensure repairs and preventive maintenance are completed effectively. Equipment Reliability & Troubleshooting Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures . Coordinate emergency repairs and minimize production downtime . Oversee maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, including: Scrap metal balers and hydraulic presses Shredders and granulators Conveyors and material-handling systems Forklifts and mobile equipment Air compressors Pumps, motors, gearboxes, and bearings Hydraulic power units and cylinders Electrical motors, controls, sensors, and related systems Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Performance Develop, manage, and execute preventive maintenance schedules. Review equipment failures and develop corrective actions to prevent repeat breakdowns . Manage work orders, equipment history, and preventive maintenance schedules through the company's maintenance system. Planning, Projects & Vendor Management Schedule maintenance work around production requirements. Maintain an organized inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies . Coordinate with outside contractors and equipment vendors when specialized repairs are required. Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, fabrication, and facility improvement projects. Safety & Compliance Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures . Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop.
