You own shop performance, technician leadership, uptime, and regulatory compliance so routes leave on time and inspections pass. What you will run Daily and preventive maintenance across all shops and all three bus classes, plus support vehicles Shop supervisors' / lead techs and a multi-location mechanic team (hiring, scheduling, training, discipline, performance) PM program, work-order flow, parts inventory, vendor/warranty relationships, and shop safety

IDOT / DOT / FMCSA

/ Illinois school-bus inspection readiness and audit response Downtime, road-call, and out-of-service rates; get buses back on the road without cutting corners Maintenance budget, labor hours, outside repairs, and capital-replacement input Regular travel among Illinois suburban shops; hands-on when a shop or a bus needs it What you bring 7+ years heavy-duty / diesel / school-bus or transit fleet maintenance, including 3+ years supervising shops or multi-site teams Working knowledge of Type A, C, and D school buses (diesel and gasoline; EV/hybrid a plus) Strong grasp of Illinois school-bus and commercial-vehicle inspection rules Fleet software / CMMS proficiency (work orders, PMs, parts, DVIR) Valid driver's license; Class B CDL with air-brake, passenger, and school-bus endorsements preferred (or ability to obtain).
