Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for implementing a comprehensive facility maintenance management plan of daily, periodic, preventive maintenance tasks and facility and equipment repairs for Veterans Memorial Arena ice facility, and DragonLand Water Park during their respective seasons as well as assist with other minor facility maintenance issues at the Recreation Department's other smaller seasonal facilities as needed. Duties Monitor for, perform, and log routine preventive maintenance associated with Veterans Memorial Arena and DragonLand Water Park, to ice surface and surrounding components of the ice rink, aquatic facility components including water quality, buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, Zamboni ice resurfacer, and other assigned equipment. Operation and appropriate use of a Zamboni Ice Resurfacer, ice edger, snow blower, and other necessary power equipment. Ability to work a flexible 40 hour per week schedule that consists of evenings and weekends. Hours can vary depending on event schedules. Lead and facilitate all aspects of ice quality maintenance including laying of ice at the beginning of season, proper maintenance of ice playing surface during the season, and removal of ice and required clean up at end of season. Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate all part-time Zamboni drivers and other part-time maintenance staff. Identify and perform necessary custodial tasks and supervise part-time staff in proper and effective execution of same required custodial tasks. Perform other related duties that may be assigned. Experience Minimum of high school graduate or GED One - three years previous maintenance experience with experience in staff supervision or leadership. Valid driver's license required.
