Warehouse Maintenance Lead Mechanic (Direct Hire) Niles, IL Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Maintenance Lead Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with a growing distribution and packaging operation in the Niles, IL area. If you have strong maintenance leadership experience and a background working with packaging equipment, this could be an excellent opportunity to advance your career with a stable and growing organization. Compensation $32.50 - $48.00 per hour Based on experience Direct hire position Responsibilities Lead daily maintenance operations within the warehouse and packaging departments Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain packaging machinery, conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, dock equipment, and facility systems Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize repair activities Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures Monitor equipment performance and recommend process improvements Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety standards Train, mentor, and support maintenance technicians Partner with operations leadership to support productivity and efficiency goals Assist with facility improvements, equipment installations, and capital projects Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, packaging, manufacturing, or industrial environment Packaging equipment maintenance experience is required Maintenance mechanic experience is required Previous Lead Mechanic or maintenance leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, conveyor systems, forklifts, and dock equipment Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Why Join This Team?
