Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective use of personnel, material, and equipment Participate in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members Participate in the development of highly effective teams Lead Manufacturing processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues Build and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between the company and the union Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training) Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma
  • will accept GED if they have relevant and good experience 2+ years of manufacturing experience Leadership
  • Military background is also good, people who have this seem to be successful in this role Problem solving, multi-tasking, organized, cannot be afraid to dig in and solve problems Ability to work with others/team player Experience working around molten aluminum would be a plus for job but not required Basic computer skills
