This role sits at the heart of a highly automated distribution operation, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and keeping cutting-edge equipment running at peak performance. Are you the type of technician who enjoys troubleshooting sophisticated equipment, solving mechanical and electrical challenges, and keeping operations running without missing a beat? We're looking for an Automation & Maintenance Technician to play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the advanced automation systems that drive our Distribution Center. In this hands-on role, you'll work with state-of-the-art packaging automation, conveyor systems, industrial printing technology, and emerging robotic order fulfillment solutions. You'll be the expert responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and helping shape the future of warehouse automation. What You'll Do Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair automated box-making equipment, including PLC controls, servo motors, sensors, and motion systems. Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Maintain and troubleshoot integrated conveyor systems, including rollers, drives, and sensors. Perform maintenance and repairs on Panther label printers, resolving print quality, communication, and hardware issues. Utilize the KOZ operating platform to monitor performance, review error logs, and resolve system integration issues. Support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of OPEX robotic order-picking systems, including autonomous mobile robots, sensors, and software. Coordinate third-party vendors supporting HVAC, electrical systems, dock equipment, racking, and material-handling equipment. Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs and create maintenance schedules where needed. Maintain equipment records, parts inventory, and maintenance documentation. Lead and support equipment upgrades, automation projects, and new system installations. Promote a safe, organized work environment and support overall facility operations. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation technology, or electromechanical equipment repair. Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, servo motor systems, and industrial sensors. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Experience with conveyor systems and industrial printing equipment. Computer proficiency and experience utilizing equipment, operating platforms, and diagnostic software. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work safely around automated equipment, moving machinery, and elevated work areas. Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, and working with tools throughout the workday. Flexibility to provide evening or weekend support when operational needs require. Preferred Qualifications Distribution center or warehouse automation experience. Electromechanical Certification. Experience supporting OPEX or other robotic picking systems. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and automation interfaces. Knowledge of servo systems and motor control theory.
