Job Description
Job Summary Midas is seeking experienced Automotive Service Managers to join our growing team! These are "floating" manager positions, helping cover days off, vacations, and additional help during peak business days. Generally, travel will be limited to north of downtown Indianapolis or south of downtown Indianapolis. Additional travel may be necessary, but will be communicated in advance. Weekend availability is preferable. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the automotive service department, including scheduling, workflow, and quality control to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians. Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repairs. Maintain accurate service writing and auto estimating to ensure transparency and proper billing procedures. Uphold standards for automotive repair quality and safety compliance across all service operations. Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service throughout the repair process. Foster strong relationships with customers by providing clear communication about vehicle issues and recommended services. Requirements Proven automotive service experience with comprehensive knowledge of automotive service management. Extensive mechanic experience with expertise in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair. Demonstrated ability in auto estimating software and service writing to ensure precise documentation and billing. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building trust and loyalty. Experience in upselling additional services effectively without compromising integrity or customer satisfaction. Ability to lead a team efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cash handling procedures along with sales experience related to automobile sales is preferred.
