Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer Intern Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will provide technical leadership to identify manual and automated equipment needed to support manufacturing and conveyor assembly. The incumbent will profile methodologies and capabilities of equipment manufacturers to support process development and ongoing operations. They will introduce new process technologies to maximize capital utilization and minimize time to volume; will work with management to assess, understand, and develop equipment vendor capabilities and write equipment specification documentation.

Job Functions:

Material Flow supporting Plan for Every Part Concept

Develop visual aids and work instructions for engineering and other functions, as assigned.

Assist quality by measuring manufactured parts, comparing accuracy to part drawings, and developing quality plans/procedures.

Assist in design/drawing creation for engineered products and system using 3D modeling software.

Assist with creation of a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) current vs. optimal.

Assist in product performance testing and analysis of failed products.

Adhering to all assembly safety standards.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

Earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Advanced Excel skills, especially with formulas, data manipulation; preferred.

Working knowledge of a 3D modeling software package; SolidWorks preferred.

Previous experience using calipers, micrometers, cmm, etc..; preferred.

Strong, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills required.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working knowledge of MRP tools for planning/scheduling, preferred.

Possible limited travel to locations within our region to learn customer requirements.
