We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Group Leader to manage all facets of our Coatings operations, encompassing Thin film and Electrocoat systems, conveyance, manual and robotic sealer systems, and robotic bonding cells. This position is responsible for everything from immediate repairs to long-term capital projects, including breakdown management and Root Cause Analysis. You will be the driving force behind maintaining high standards for facility systems, machinery, and equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Your Daily Impact:

Guide, mentor, and develop your maintenance team while enforcing rigorous safety protocols like LOTO, PPE, and standard operating procedures. Develop and execute effective preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to keep operations running smoothly. Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, robotic, and vision systems. Manage external vendors and contractors to ensure all capital projects and services meet our strict quality and safety requirements. Work closely with Production to identify the root causes of issues and implement corrective measures that minimize future downtime. Oversee the procurement and management of spare parts inventory while maintaining cost-effective reorder points. Execute equipment upgrades, rebuilds, alignments, rigging, and new installations to improve facility capabilities. Utilize technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to facilitate complex repairs and project planning. Maintain precise records of work orders and PM schedules while reporting on key performance indicators like MTTR and MTBF. Coordinate contractor scheduling, safety compliance, and quality verification for all outsourced work. Promote a culture of safety and 5S excellence to ensure a clean and organized shop floor. Provide strategic recommendations to leadership regarding facility upgrades, capital investments, and long-term reliability.

Qualifications We Seek:

An engineering degree is preferred, though relevant professional experience is also acceptable. At least eight years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a minimum of two years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Practical expertise with shafts, seals, bearings, conveyors, pipefitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Competency in machining, welding, fabrication, forklift operation, and the use of cranes or hoists. Technical proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, robotics, and PLC systems. The ability to accurately interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Demonstrated success in managing and scheduling multi-skilled teams, paired with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and CI methodologies to drive measurable improvements in MTBF and MTTR.

Additional Requirements:

Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and off-shift hours as the business requires. Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms. Proven track record in capital project management, budgeting, and vendor relations. A results-oriented mindset with a deep commitment to operational excellence and safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications in safety, maintenance, leadership development, or Six Sigma. Current certification for man lifts or fork trucks, or the willingness to obtain them.
