Direct Hire Job Summary Seeking an experienced Reliability & Automation Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, automation, and controls initiatives within a high-volume 24/7 manufacturing environment. This leader will be responsible for improving equipment uptime, increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reducing maintenance costs, and driving the transition from reactive maintenance practices to a proactive, predictive maintenance culture. This is a highly visible leadership position requiring strong technical expertise in maintenance reliability, automation systems, continuous improvement, and team development. Maintenance & Reliability Leadership Lead all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across the facility. Develop and execute reliability strategies that improve equipment uptime and extend asset life. Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements through data-driven maintenance initiatives. Establish reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) best practices. Analyze downtime trends and implement root cause corrective actions. Build and expand predictive maintenance programs utilizing vibration analysis, thermography, condition monitoring, and other reliability tools. Partner with operations to support production goals and improve equipment performance. Automation & Controls Provide leadership for plant automation and controls systems. Support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, robotics, vision systems, and industrial networking. Identify automation opportunities that improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and external vendors on automation upgrades and projects. Support equipment modernization and technology implementation initiatives. Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop maintenance technicians, controls technicians, and contracted service providers. Conduct workforce planning, training, coaching, and performance management activities. Promote a culture of accountability, reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. Identify technical training opportunities to keep maintenance personnel current with evolving technologies. Projects & Continuous Improvement Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventories, and capital improvement projects. Evaluate equipment and facility needs and recommend improvements or replacements. Lead continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment. Develop strategies to improve system capability while reducing maintenance costs. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, quality, and company safety standards. Maintain a safe working environment through proactive risk identification and mitigation. Support regulatory, quality, and operational audits as required. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field preferred. 7+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience in an injection molding environment. 3+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of PLC controls, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, robotics, and industrial networking. Experience developing and implementing predictive maintenance programs. Demonstrated success reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Netstal, Arburg, Sumitomo, or similar injection molding press platforms. Experience supporting integrated automation systems. CMMS experience. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, CMRP, CRL, or similar certifications. Background in injection molding, packaging, food processing, or high-speed manufacturing environments. Proven ability to lead teams and drive measurable operational results. Experience building maintenance programs that improve uptime and reduce costs.
