Job Overview:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the following duties. Responsible for keeping the machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of an establishment in operation and good repair. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Sets schedules for preventative maintenance of machines while ensuring production needs are being met. Follows up with employees to make sure work is being completed efficiently and effectively. Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Trains workers in methods, procedures, and use of equipment. Examines any system, object, or facilities to determine installation, service, or repair needs. Computes estimated and actual costs of factors, such as materials, labor, and budgets. Requisitions materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities. Patrols work area and examines tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety protocol. Records repairs made and actual costs. Performs activities of workers supervised. Tracks and records subordinate employee time off, vacation, attendance, schedule, and disciplinary and action forms. Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Past work within the field of maintenance. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suit. Experience entering requisitions and completing requisitions for maintenance of machines or tools.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree in related field Forklift Certification SAP experience Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven businesses Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization Bilingual German/Spanish a plus The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
