What they do
A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

Job Description
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceive and processmaintenancework requests.
Create, update, prioritize, schedule, and close work orders within the maintenance management system.
Coordinate maintenance schedules and communicate planned work to stakeholders.
Provide status updates on work orders, projects, and maintenance activities to supervision and stakeholders.
Assistin planning and scheduling preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Assistwith identifying maintenance materials, spare parts, and inventory requirements.
Coordinate with Purchasing to order maintenance parts and supplies andmaintainaccurateinventory records.
Record inventory transactions, perform cycle counts, andassistwith inventory organization and control.
Work with purchasing to ensurematerials and components are available and kitted for scheduled maintenance activities.
Communicate with vendors, contractors, OEMs, and suppliersregardingparts, services, and scheduling requirements.
Coordinate andmonitorcontractor activities while on site.
Maintain calibration records, maintenance files, equipment documentation, and other maintenance records.
Assistwith the development, updating, and management of preventive maintenance procedures, job plans, and maintenance documentation.
Compile, prepare, and distribute maintenance reports and performance metrics as requested.
Foster positive working relationships between maintenance, operations, and other departments.
Periodicallyassistmaintenance technicians with preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
Perform all workin accordance withcompany safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDrequired.
Associate degree ina technical, maintenance, manufacturing, or business-related field preferred.
Three (3) or more years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance support, inventory control, administrative support, or an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
Experienceusing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to interpret and manage maintenance schedules and work orders.
Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, measurements, and inventory quantities.
Basic understanding of industrial maintenance, manufacturing processes, and maintenance terminology.
Familiarity with maintenance inventory, spare parts management, and purchasing processes.
Working knowledge of common mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and maintenance-related components preferred.
Ability to build productive working relationships with operations, maintenance personnel, vendors, and contractors.
Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move materials, parts, and inventory weighing up to 50 pounds withoutassistance.
Ability to use or learn measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, and similar tools.
Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Working ConditionsManufacturing and warehouse environment.
Frequent interaction with maintenance personnel, operations staff, vendors, and contractors.
Exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying environmental conditions consistent with a manufacturing facility.
