The location in Owensboro, (Kentucky, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Specialist. This job is full-time permanent.
MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
Position Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Specialist serves as a key member of the Owensboro maintenance team. This position is responsible for supporting plant safety, equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintenance & Technical Support Perform hands-on maintenance and repair activities on converting and production equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment. Identify and implement reliability improvements to reduce downtime. Leadership & Coordination Lead preventive maintenance and shutdown projects. Coordinate work assignments and provide directions to maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors. Facilitate maintenance, safety, and training meetings. Serve as backup for the Maintenance Manager when required. Safety & Continuous Improvement Promote safe work practices at all times. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected promptly. Lead approved safety improvement projects. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Demonstrate leadership and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance systems. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years maintaining paper converting or manufacturing equipment. Advanced knowledge of paper converting processes. PLC Programming Certification or equivalent experience. You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
