Hill's Equipment is a family-owned dealership serving the Livingston Parish area with industry-leading products including Bad Boy, Massey Ferguson, Yanmar, Grasshopper, Dixie Chopper, Lane Shark, and more. We are seeking an organized, customer-focused Service Manager to lead our service department and help deliver an outstanding ownership experience to our customers. Position Summary The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow, customer satisfaction, technician productivity, warranty administration, and manufacturer compliance. This position serves as the primary link between customers, technicians, manufacturers, and dealership management. Key ResponsibilitiesService Department Operations Schedule and prioritize daily shop workload Assign work to technicians based on skill level and availability Monitor shop efficiency and technician productivity Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe service department Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and warranty work Customer Service Greet and check in customer equipment for service Prepare service estimates and communicate repair recommendations Provide regular updates to customers regarding repair status Handle customer concerns and help resolve service-related issues Review completed repairs with customers and process final checkout Technical Support Assist technicians with troubleshooting and diagnostics when needed Stay current on service bulletins, recalls, product updates, and technical information Coordinate with manufacturers' technical support teams Ensure proper repair procedures and manufacturer guidelines are followed Warranty & Manufacturer Relations Process and submit warranty claims accurately and timely Track warranty reimbursements and claim status Communicate with manufacturer service representatives Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty policies Manage recalls and service campaigns Technician Management Track technician time and labor efficiency Review technician productivity and work quality Help identify training opportunities for service personnel Support a positive and team-oriented work environment Assist with technician scheduling and workload balancing Parts & Inventory Coordination Work closely with the parts department to ensure timely availability of repair parts Help identify recurring parts needs and stocking opportunities Minimize downtime caused by parts delays Qualifications Preferred Experience Experience managing a service department, dealership shop, or repair facility Knowledge of agricultural equipment, compact tractors, lawn mowers, utility equipment, or diesel equipment Experience with warranty administration and manufacturer programs Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to use computer based diagnostic software and time-tracking tools. Skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Computer proficiency and experience with service management software Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support technicians Professional attitude and attention to detail
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
