Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

This is a mid-to-senior-level planning role—not an entry-level position. The successful candidate will be capable of independently developing detailed maintenance work packages, coordinating resources and materials, and supporting the safe and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance activities in an operating plant environment.Key Responsibilities:
Perform field walks to evaluate incoming work orders and verify job scope, equipment conditions, access requirements, and potential hazards. Develop complete, execution-ready maintenance work packages and job plans for mechanical craft personnel. Plan and coordinate maintenance activities involving: Pumps Heat exchangers Valves Piping systems Pipefitting-related work General mechanical equipment Define job steps, labor requirements, tools, materials, permits, equipment, and special procedures needed for successful execution. Create, update, and manage maintenance work plans and notifications in SAP . Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding parts, materials, equipment availability, technical information, and delivery status. Generate purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and support procurement activities as needed. Identify material, resource, access, and scheduling constraints before work is released for execution. Work closely with plant gatekeepers, work activity coordinators, maintenance supervisors, planners, and craft personnel. Support schedule development, work prioritization, and readiness reviews. Provide technical clarification and planning support during job execution. Ensure work packages are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with plant procedures, safety requirements, and maintenance standards. Maintain clear documentation and communicate status, risks, and outstanding requirements to project and maintenance stakeholders.Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in maintenance planning, maintenance coordination, or a closely related industrial maintenance role. Demonstrated experience developing detailed maintenance work packages, job plans, and execution plans. Strong working knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities and equipment. Ability to independently evaluate work scopes and translate them into practical, field-executable plans. Strong organizational, communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders. Comfortable working in an operating industrial facility and performing field walks. Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and meet planning and scheduling deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using SAP for maintenance planning and work management. Maintenance planning experience in one or more of the following environments: Chemical manufacturing Petrochemical Refining LNG Oil and gas Heavy industrial manufacturing Background in one or more of the following areas: Pipefitting Piping design Mechanical maintenance Rotating equipment Fixed equipment Familiarity with industrial safety, permitting, isolation, and work-control processes. Experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and maintenance craft personnel.Site Access and Additional Requirements:
Candidates without a TWIC may be considered; will be a requirement before starting Must be willing and able to work in a chemical plant environment and conduct field walks. Must be able to communicate effectively with plant operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and support functions. Core Competencies The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong mechanical maintenance planning capability Excellent written and verbal communication Exceptional organization and attention to detail Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders Practical understanding of field execution requirements Ability to develop complete, well-thought-out work packages Sound judgment when identifying job risks, constraints, and resource needs Ability to work independently in a demanding industrial environment Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner from a petrochemical, refinery, chemical manufacturing, LNG, or similar heavy industrial environment. This individual will have a proven record of creating detailed work packages, coordinating maintenance activities, working with vendors and suppliers, using SAP, and supporting mechanical equipment maintenance programs. A pipefitting, piping, or hands-on mechanical maintenance background is highly desirable.
