Job Description

Landscaping/Hardscaping Crew Leader Position Summary:
David S. Brown Enterprises is seeking an experienced and dependable Landscaping/Hardscaping Crew Leader to join our Field Operations team. This position is responsible for leading a small crew while actively participating in landscaping, hardscaping, grounds maintenance, and seasonal projects throughout our portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in quality work, safety, and maintaining attractive outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and work alongside a crew of 2-3 laborers and/or machine operators. Travel to multiple properties and work sites to complete assigned projects. Perform landscaping duties including mulching, planting, pruning, edging, seeding, lawn care, and general grounds maintenance. Complete hardscaping projects including installation of pavers, concrete, retaining walls, drainage systems, fencing, planters, and other exterior features. Operate tractors, snow blowers, sod cutters, chainsaws, power tools, and other landscaping equipment. Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, outdoor common areas, and other property grounds. Perform power washing and general exterior maintenance as needed. Assist with snow removal and salting during winter weather. Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials, and equipment used. Ensure assigned work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Properly maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of landscaping and/or hardscaping experience required. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience operating landscaping and construction machinery required. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Reliable personal transportation. Strong communication and organizational skills. Dependable, professional, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to take initiative and manage changing priorities and work demands. Must successfully meet company background check requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and perform physical outdoor work. Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment. Must be comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
