Job Description

Full Job Description:
Responsible for leading site engineering and maintenance operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Oversees preventative and corrective maintenance programs, utilities systems, and a hands-on technical team to ensure equipment reliability, food safety, and production uptime. Combines leadership and hands-on technical work , supporting continuous improvement, safety compliance, and efficient plant performance across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

$90,000 - $110,000 per year
Severn, MD Food Manufacturing Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop site engineering and maintenance team Ensure reliable operation of production equipment and utilities systems Oversee ammonia refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, steam, HVAC, and related utilities Perform and supervise maintenance on electro-mechanical and PLC-controlled systems Drive preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown response Maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) and food safety compliance Manage maintenance planning, spare parts, and engineering stores Support production planning and minimize downtime and waste Conduct training, coaching, performance reviews, and shift handovers Monitor maintenance costs and support budget control Lead continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Ensure accurate maintenance documentation and reporting
Key Requirements:
Strong background in industrial maintenance or engineering leadership Experience with electro-mechanical systems, motors, drives, pumps, and sensors Ammonia refrigeration and utilities systems experience preferred PLC systems knowledge (Allen Bradley or similar) preferred Experience in food or high-volume manufacturing environment preferred Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop maintenance teams Strong troubleshooting, planning, and root-cause analysis skills Ability to work in fast-paced, cold, and safety-critical environment
