Young Adults and Youth Minister Position Summary The Young Adults and Youth Minister serves the congregation by providing spiritual leadership in discipleship, relational ministry, and faith formation among young adults, middle school students, and high school students. This role seeks to glorify God by helping people become fully devoted followers of Christ through biblical teaching, mentoring relationships, intentional discipleship, and active involvement in the life of the church. The minister will cultivate authentic Christian community, equip emerging leaders, and create environments where young adults and students can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and live missionally. Primary Responsibilities Young Adults Ministry Lead and oversee the spiritual formation and discipleship of young adults through biblical teaching, mentoring, small groups, and relational ministry. Build a welcoming, Christ-centered community that encourages authentic relationships, spiritual growth, biblical accountability, and active participation in the church. Plan and lead Bible studies, small groups, gatherings, retreats, service opportunities, and other discipleship experiences. Identify, recruit, train, and support volunteers and emerging leaders within the ministry. Develop outreach and service opportunities that engage young adults in the church and surrounding community. Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance as young adults navigate life transitions, faith questions, and spiritual development. Youth Ministry Lead the spiritual formation and discipleship of middle and high school students through biblical teaching, mentoring, and relational ministry. Build meaningful relationships with students and families while providing pastoral care, guidance, and encouragement. Plan and lead classes, devotionals, retreats, service projects, and other youth ministry events. Equip students to grow in spiritual maturity, serve others, and actively participate in the life of the church. Shared Ministry Responsibilities Model Christian character, humility, integrity, and servant leadership. Collaborate with elders, ministers, ministry leaders, parents, volunteers, and the broader congregation. Recruit, equip, and develop volunteers and ministry teams. Support church-wide teaching, discipleship, outreach, fellowship, and ministry initiatives. Maintain healthy, consistent communication with young adults, students, families, volunteers, and church leadership. Qualifications & Character The ideal candidate will: Demonstrate a deep love for Christ and His church, with a commitment to biblical teaching and Christian living. Possess a shepherding heart and a passion for discipling young adults, students, and families. Connect effectively with young adults and students and build authentic, meaningful relationships. Demonstrate strong relational, organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Have the ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers and emerging leaders. Lead with humility, integrity, spiritual maturity, and a commitment to unity. Work collaboratively with church leadership and ministry teams. Possess formal ministry training or relevant ministry experience preferred, but not required.
