Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor
This is a hands-on leadership role, with an approximate 70/30 split between engineering activity and supervisory/administrative duties, offering the opportunity to remain technically engaged while developing people, processes and performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and organise all mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs and improvement activitiesLead, motivate and supervise Electrical and Mechanical Craftspersons and the Day Work TeamLiaise closely with Packed Products Electrical teams and other site process teams to optimise maintenance planning and timingEnsure compliance with statutory legislation and internal Safety, Health and Environmental standardsSupport management of the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance budgetReview KPIs and maintenance performance, using best-practice reporting toolsLead and participate in team meetings, promoting engagement and continuous improvementCarry out annual Performance and Development Meetings (PDMs) and identify training needsMaintain a strong working knowledge of S.E.T plant and equipment and logistics maintenance systemsProvide out-of-hours support when required and work flexibly to meet the needs of the businessWhat We're Looking ForExperience & KnowledgePrevious experience in a high-volume manufacturing or cement environment (highly desirable)Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenanceExperience with cement handling systems, including bulk loading and packing operationsProven experience supervising or leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environmentSound understanding of electrical isolation proceduresSkills & AttributesStrong leadership and people management skillsConscientious, proactive and safety-focusedSelf-motivated with the ability to work at all levels of the organisationComfortable engaging with contractors, operators and senior managementComputer literate with experience using plant maintenance systemsWhy TarmacWe don't just offer a job, we offer a career.
