Maintenance Planner/Project Manager

  • Full-time Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance Planning & Coordination Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mill equipment and facilities.
Develop detailed job plans including labor requirements, materials, tooling, permits, and estimated completion times. Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and outage schedules to minimize production downtime. Maintain maintenance backlog and prioritize work orders based on operational needs and equipment criticality. Work closely with maintenance supervisors and operations personnel to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Monitor equipment history and maintenance records to identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with purchasing and inventory personnel to maintain adequate spare parts and maintenance supplies. Assist in development and implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Support troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Project Management Plan, manage, and oversee capital improvement and operational projects throughout the mill. Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal personnel during project execution. Track project progress and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. Manage equipment installations, upgrades, rebuilds, and facility improvement projects. Review drawings, schematics, and project documentation. Ensure projects comply with environmental, safety, and operational standards. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and equipment upgrades. Prepare project reports, cost analyses, and status updates for management. Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout all maintenance and project activities. Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed. Participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Ensure contractors and employees comply with all mill safety requirements. Support housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications College degree required, preferably in an engineering field Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a sawmill, lumber mill Prior experience in maintenance planning, project coordination, or supervision preferred. Budgetary experience required Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and sawmill systems. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment Physical Requirements Ability to work in industrial environments including exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and moving equipment. Ability to walk, climb stairs/ladders, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work extended hours or respond to emergencies when required. Work Environment

$80,000.00
