Job Description

Company Overview Liberty Athletic Club has been a cornerstone of fitness and recreation for over four decades. Spanning 110,000 square feet on 12 acres, our facility offers top-tier cardio and strength training areas, multiple tennis courts, swimming pools, and a full-service spa—making us the largest athletic club in the region. Job Summary The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall operation, safety, maintenance, and condition of Liberty Athletic Club's buildings, grounds, equipment, pools, and facility systems. This position provides strategic and technical leadership for the Facilities & Maintenance Department and ensures that the club is maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, cleanliness, and appearance. The Manager works closely with the facilities supervisor, department managers, contractors, and club leadership to establish priorities, maintain preventive maintenance programs, manage projects, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The Manager is ultimately accountable for the performance of the Facilities & Maintenance Department while delegating the daily supervision of the Facilities team to the Facilities Supervisor. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Building Maintenance & Systems Oversee maintenance and operation of building equipment, furnaces, air-conditioning systems, air handlers, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility infrastructure. Establish and oversee preventive maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot building and equipment issues and coordinate repairs. Maintain maintenance logs for general building repairs, preventive maintenance, and specialized equipment. Work with outside contractors for repair, maintenance, inspection, and renovation projects. Partner with the rock wall manufacturer for annual servicing and repairs throughout the year. Oversee grounds-related contractors, including grass cutting and snow removal. Ensure tennis courts, pickleball courts, sidewalks, parking areas, retention ponds, and other exterior areas are appropriately maintained. Ensure cleaning equipment, including vacuums and other machines, is properly cleaned, maintained, stored, and ready for use. Ensure the court sweeper is maintained and that track and tennis court cleaning is completed according to schedule. Safety & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, sanitation, county, health department, and fire department requirements. Maintain required facility inspections, records, and documentation. Identify safety concerns and ensure corrective action is completed promptly. Serve as a resource to the facilities coordinator regarding safe cleaning procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and employee safety. Pools & Outdoor Complex Maintain a solid understanding of all pool systems and troubleshoot pool-system issues. Oversee the seasonal opening and closing of the outdoor pool complex in partnership with the pool contractor, Aquatics Director, and other team members. Coordinate Health Department inspections for indoor and outdoor pools and ensure deficiencies are corrected. Coordinate outdoor tent installation and removal. Oversee seasonal installation and removal of outdoor tennis and pickleball equipment. Conduct preseason inspections of outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. Work with the General Manager, ownership, and department managers to ensure the outdoor complex is safe, functional, and prepared for seasonal operation. Operational Responsibilities Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance-related parts, tools, equipment, and supplies. Participate in maintenance shifts or facility coverage when operational needs require. Be available on-call for facility emergencies, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Act as Manager on Duty and/or First Responder when necessary. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of building maintenance and facility systems. Strong leadership, organizational, and project-management skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously. Strong follow-through and attention to detail. Collaborative approach when working with other departments. Commitment to member service and maintaining a safe, professional club environment. Required Education, Certifications and Experience A minimum High school diploma or GED Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or willing to obtain with 30 days AED/First Aid certification recommended. Building maintenance/HVAC experience or certifications strongly preferred. Previous supervisory or facility-management experience preferred.
Pay:
$33.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
