  • THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP
  • This position is loced in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Ste, Logistics Directore (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility.
Responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordine leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function. Plans work operions of gre scope, complexity, and administrive authority. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for performance of operions within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. The occupion and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nure of the overall work operions supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic Inspector, WG-5801-12.
Planning:
Plans use of subordine workers, equipment, facilities, and merials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordines work with supporting or reled work functions controlled by other supervisors.
Work Direction:
Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Investiges work reled problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operions directed by other supervisors.
Administrion:
Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordines and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordine work performance. Inities recommendions for promotion or reassignment of subordines. Performs the non-supervisory work of the function, as needed, such as performing maintenance and/or inspection tasks on equipment, equipment operions, or other non-supervisory functions. Ensures employee compliance with standing opering procedures established for the activity. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established merials shelf life programs. Ensures all aspects of Force Protection to include physical security, facility and vehicle key control, property accountability, access control and employee protection in accordance with established policies and regulions. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions, inspections, mobilizion and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operion, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies. MILITARY GRADE

  • Experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operion, and working relionships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify interconnected complex systems on a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Extensive knowledge of ste of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumic, and other major non-mechanical systems th have a functional relionship and effect on the operion of major mechanical systems. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumic, electrical, and electronic controls. Skill and knowledge to develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines (such as modifying parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed); improvise modificions to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; and design modificions to meet special test requirements or other special needs.
