Job Summary The Maintenance/EVS (Environmental Services) Director is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance operations within a Skilled Nursing Facility. This leadership role ensures compliance with safety standards, including CMS, State, Federal and OSHA regulations, and promotes a safe, clean environment for staff, residents, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in Maintenance and Environmental Services management in a healthcare setting. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Responsibilities Develop and implement cleaning and maintenance protocols aligned with CMS and Life Safety Code standards and facility policies. Supervise daily environmental services operations, ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained across all areas. Manage housekeeping/laundry staff, assign duties, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and environmental compliance. Oversee floor care activities including stripping, waxing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to ensure optimal appearance and safety. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; coordinate procurement as needed. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with hospital administration to address specific sanitation needs and implement improvements. Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and compliance reports. Lead efforts in emergency response situations related to environmental hazards or sanitation issues. Experience Proven experience in maintenance/environmental services management within healthcare or similar settings. Strong knowledge of regulations related to safety and sanitation standards. Extensive maintenance or custodial experience with a focus in healthcare environments preferred. Skilled in floor care techniques including stripping, sealing, waxing, and carpet extraction. Experience in commercial cleaning operations with an understanding of sanitation best practices. Previous supervisory or leadership experience managing teams is highly desirable. Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning chemicals used in healthcare facilities. From $50,000.00 per year
