Our cold-drawn seamless tube and pipe manufacturing plant in South Lyon, Michigan, has been operating continuously since 1927. From humble beginnings, MST has grown into a global manufacturing leader, supplying boiler tubes, mechanical tubes, and carbon and alloy pressure pipes for various industries. We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to direct plant maintenance activities. Coordinates the installation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. Recommends changes to improve production, equipment, and facilities. Assists in enforcing all safety standards and adhering to safety and company/union policy guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily supervision, planning, and scheduling of all mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance personnel. Supervise maintenance activities, including contracted services, to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient machine operation. Ensure timely completion of tasks and assignments while minimizing downtime for production equipment. Responsible for the following positions, rotating on a daily basis: mechanics, electricians, and wastewater treatment technicians Recommend improvements to production process equipment Order parts for maintenance repairs as required Responsible for time, attendance, and bargaining unit relationships with all assigned employees Actively engage employees to maintain positive morale and a collaborative team. Maintain a supportive, professional, and respectful approach in all workplace communications. Essential Functions Good communication skills with supervision, peers, and subordinates Strong understanding of the production process, equipment, and plant facilities Excellent mechanical and electrical understanding and skills Good troubleshooting abilities

Qualifications:

Required experience in maintenance supervision in heavy industry; steel tubing preferred Must have a basic understanding of all engineering disciplines State license from MDEQ for supervision of a wastewater treatment plant governed by an NPDES permit, preferred Bachelor of Science degree or a combination of education and experience.
