We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance, safety, and physical environment of our skilled nursing facility. This is an important leadership position. Our residents and staff depend on a building that is safe, comfortable, well-maintained, and ready every day. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs attention before being asked, and follows projects through to completion. What You'll Do As our Director of Maintenance, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and physical condition of the facility, including: Oversee day-to-day building maintenance and repairs Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance Maintain heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems Respond promptly to maintenance concerns from residents and staff Complete routine building and safety inspections Maintain documentation, logs, inspections, and preventative maintenance records Ensure the facility is prepared for state, federal, fire marshal, and life-safety inspections Monitor fire and life-safety systems and required testing Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and service providers Obtain quotes and assist with larger repair and capital projects Maintain resident rooms, common areas, equipment, grounds, and exterior areas Ensure maintenance supplies and equipment are organized and appropriately stocked Assist with emergency preparedness and drills Participate in the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process Work closely with the Administrator and department leaders to identify and resolve facility concerns Prioritize projects based on resident safety, regulatory requirements, and operational needs What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Hands-on and willing to jump in when something needs to be done Organized and able to manage multiple priorities Proactive rather than reactive Dependable and responsive Comfortable working independently Able to communicate well with residents, staff, vendors, and leadership Detail-oriented with strong follow-through Knowledgeable about general building maintenance and repair Familiar with preventative maintenance programs Able to troubleshoot problems and determine when outside expertise is needed Previous maintenance experience in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living community, healthcare setting, hotel, apartment complex, or other commercial building is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Life Safety Code, CMS requirements, OSHA, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and healthcare regulatory requirements is a plus. Why Join Our Team?
