Are you an experienced HVAC technician who enjoys solving difficult problems—and helping other technicians become better? Ignite Heating, Cooling & Refrigeration is hiring a Working Service Manager to join our growing team. You'll run service calls, coach technicians, improve service quality, and work directly with the owner to build a stronger service department. This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll remain a productive technician while receiving dedicated time for training, quality checks, and team development. As the department grows, your leadership responsibilities will grow with it. What you'll do Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. Handle challenging service calls and provide technical support to other technicians. Lead ride-alongs, practical training, and regular service-team meetings. Set clear expectations for workmanship, communication, documentation, and customer care. Review callbacks, identify their causes, and help prevent repeat problems. Coordinate with dispatch to match calls with technician skills and customer needs. Help technicians explain repair options clearly and recommend solutions that fit the customer. Review job notes, photos, and invoices in Housecall Pro for accuracy and completeness. Help maintain stocked, organized service vehicles and safe working practices. Support hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback with the owner. Commercial refrigeration and fireplace experience would be valuable, but aren't required for an otherwise strong HVAC candidate. What we're looking for Strong HVAC service and diagnostic experience; five or more years preferred. EPA Section 608 certification appropriate for the equipment serviced. Experience mentoring technicians or leading a team—or clear readiness to take that step. The ability to teach patiently, give direct feedback, and hold people accountable. Clear communication with customers, coworkers, and leadership.
