Job Description

CITY OF REDWOOD FALLS FULL-TIME STREET SUPERINTENDENT
The City of Redwood Falls is seeking applications for a full-time Street Superintendent. This position is responsible for administration of the Streets Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department, including but not limited to supervising street maintenance workers and a mechanic, managing snow removal operations, planning and coordinating street maintenance projects, vehicle maintenance and workflow. Establishing street and equipment maintenance priorities and working with the public to communicate program objectives. This position will prioritize and assign daily work assignments and will dispatch street crews and the shop mechanic. In addition, this position will monitor work for quality and is a technical resource for subordinates, maintains safety programs, instructs crews in work methods, inspects work, responds to citizen complaints and inquiries. Qualified Candidates must have previous leadership experience and be able to plan and organize work in municipal street construction and shop maintenance activities. High school graduate or equivalent is required and prefer candidates with a post secondary education in a related field. Person must possess basic computer skills and be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs. Candidates must have a valid Class B Driver's license or have the ability to obtain within 6 months along with an acceptable driving record. Must have the ability to operate various pieces of light and heavy maintenance equipment and work alongside the maintenance crew. This is an exempt/salaried position the salary range is $83,782 - $110,136/year based on qualifications with excellent benefits.
