Full-Time About the Opportunity The Unicorn Group of North Carolina is currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Maintenance Mechanic for a manufacturing client in Huntersville, NC. This position is responsible for maintaining production, fabrication, service equipment, and facilities through preventive and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically and electrically skilled, and comfortable troubleshooting equipment with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and fabrication equipment Troubleshoot, evaluate, repair, and adjust equipment Identify root causes of machine failures and determine appropriate solutions Perform mechanical and light electrical maintenance Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and electrical schematics Work with automation systems and PLCs Maintain production, laboratory, testing, and facility equipment Source replacement parts through vendors when needed Work with contractors to complete maintenance projects Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies Complete required maintenance reports and documentation Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized Communicate and collaborate with Production, Fabrication, Quality Control, and other departments Follow all safety procedures and maintain regular, dependable attendance Work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance issues with minimal supervision Qualifications High school diploma or GED 5 years of experience performing general electrical and mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment Ability to independently and safely use required tools and equipment Experience reading electrical schematics Hands-on exposure to automation and PLCs Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers Must be available to work overtime and/or additional hours when requested Physical Requirements The position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as bending, stretching, reaching, crawling, squatting, and working in various positions. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. The work environment may include exposure to machinery, moderate noise, chemical odors, electrical hazards, high temperatures, confined areas, and heights up to 30 feet. Required protective equipment includes safety glasses, heat-resistant safety gloves, and anti-static steel-toed safety shoes. Why Apply?
