Job Description

Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Considerable experience in performing the full range of tasks associated with management of a maintenance department.
Supervises:

All areas of maintenance operations of school facilities

Nature of Work

This position supervises the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of systems, equipment and fixtures within the school system. Work involves organizing and planning the day to day operation of the maintenance department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Considerable knowledge of ADA regulations.
  • Considerable knowledge of mechanical, electrical , plumbing, and building codes.
  • Considerable knowledge of "School Dude" maintenance program
  • Considerable knowledge of controls system, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with employees.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Schedules and plans maintenance projects each day.
  • Prioritizing maintenance request.
  • Training and supervision of maintenance employees.
  • Maintain communications with all areas of Administration
  • Assist Director of Maintenance with employee's evaluations.
  • Schedule PM's on equipment.
  • Inspect conditions of all facilities.
  • Plan and direct work on boiler for state boiler inspection.
  • Maintain record on inspection of chillers and boilers.
  • Prepares monthly safety meetings.
  • Prepares daily reports and keeps records of plant operations.
  • Prepares summary report of maintenance and repair work performed monthly.
  • Prepares lockout/tagout program.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
