The company serves approximately 140 freight customers, including major Fortune 500 companies, across diverse industries such as agriculture, chemicals, lumber, minerals, and recycling. Job Summary Nebraska Central Railroad Company is seeking a Roadmaster to supervise track and structure maintenance, plan and implement maintenance programs and capital projects, and manage Maintenance of Way performance across safety, productivity, quality, and budget expectations. This role also supports workforce supervision, safety instruction, purchasing, contractor oversight, railcar movement clearances, and annual business planning. Responsibilities

• Supervise all track and structure maintenance on the railroad.
• Plan and implement maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Manage maintenance and capital programs to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and adherence to budgets.
• Instruct the workforce on safety compliance and mandated programs.
• Negotiate pricing for equipment and materials.
• Purchase materials needed for Maintenance of Way projects.
• Participate in weekend duty assignments.
• Supervise Maintenance of Way employees, including training, assigning work, directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
• Oversee work performed by outside contractors.
• Handle railcar movement clearances.
• Recommend hiring and discipline decisions for Maintenance of Way employees.
• Assist with the annual business plan and projection of anticipated expenses. Requirements
• Preferred minimum 15 years of experience in railroad track maintenance and construction.
• Preferred minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of railroad maintenance and construction practices.
• Proven track record providing leadership and results in safety.
• Thorough knowledge of FRA practices and standards, including Roadway Worker Safety regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must be able to work effectively with all levels of municipal and state governments.
• Must become qualified on the General Code of Operating Rules.
• Valid driver's license required.
