Position Information Position Title Hartford Art School Operations Manager FLSA Classification EX Reports to Dean, Hartford Art School Salary Range F Weeks Per Year 52 Work Week Monday - Friday with some nights and weekends Position Summary Oversees daily office and facility operations, faculty needs, student services, and supply management for the Hartford Art School. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students. Hiring Range The budgeted starting salary for this position is $50,455 to $58,000 Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Oversees and manages day-to-day facilities operations and identifies maintenance needs. Works with University Facilities department and outside vendors to ensure the timely completion of minor facility repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects. Purchases supplies, equipment and contracts labor as required. Supervises and coordinates the work of all HAS technical staff. Coordinates the hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of HAS technicians and student workers including scheduling and time reporting. Coordinates, schedules, and creates contract for live studio models. Acts as College liaison with Facilities and outside vendors on maintenance and construction projects. Monitors building conditions and ensuring studios, classrooms, shops, and common areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Partners with faculty to monitor, track, and coordinate the purchase of course supplies and expenditures related to student course work. Manages inventory of equipment, tools, and consumable materials for the College. Assists with space planning, studio setup, and special events requiring facility support. Supports compliance with all safety protocols, equipment maintenance schedules, and regulatory requirements. Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with the Facilities Department and external vendors to schedule equipment and facility maintenance and to ensure proper clean-up of departmental spaces. Enforces facility access policies for students and faculty. Performs other related duties as assigned.
