Head, Facilities and Maintenance - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing General Summary

• To provide leadership and direction for keeping the facility, utilities, and production equipment safe, compliant, efficient, and audit-ready while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsible for facility and equipment qualification and maintenance as well as coordinate all projects related to facility renovation and expansion. Key Responsibilities
• Lead facility engineering, maintenance, renovation, and expansion projects from planning through completion.
• Prepare and execute protocols for qualification of facilities, utilities and process equipment.
• Manage preventive maintenance, repairs, work orders, equipment modifications, and facility services to ensure reliable operations.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, construction firms, budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
• Maintain compliance with FDA, cGMP, OSHA, environmental, safety, and internal quality requirements.
• Support equipment, process, and facility qualifications, including documentation and audit readiness.
• Develop and administer maintenance policies, procedures, SOPs, and departmental priorities.
• Partner with Operations and Quality to troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, cost, efficiency, customer service, and manufacturing performance.
• Supervise maintenance staff and allocate employees, contractors, equipment, and resources effectively.
• Ensure facility systems such as HVAC, boilers, compressors, electrical systems, plumbing, utilities, and production equipment remain in good operating condition. Qualifications
• BS degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance leadership experience; pharmaceutical, FDA-regulated, or cGMP manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with facility systems including HVAC, boilers, compressors, electrical systems, PLCs, plumbing, utilities, and production equipment.
• Knowledge of GMP validation, qualification protocols, preventive maintenance practices, OSHA, environmental regulations, and audit documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong leadership, communication, vendor-management, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Availability for on-call maintenance coverage as needed.
